Screening, limits and privacy
Staff screening and verification
Understand what a check can tell you, what remains uncertain and which questions to ask before choosing household staff.
The areas below explain screening considerations, not a claim that Maid in Pakistan completes every check for every candidate. Confirm the checks and their status for the individual being considered.
What screening can help with
What to clarify about a candidate
Recruiter interview
An initial conversation helps establish a candidate's background, experience and preferred work. It can identify matters to discuss further, but an interview alone does not independently verify every statement or demonstrate how someone will perform in your home.
Identity and NADRA-related checks
Identity screening concerns the details and documents a candidate provides. Where a NADRA-related check is applicable, ask what was checked and its status. Do not assume direct access to NADRA, a particular verification channel or a completed check for every candidate. Identity confirmation does not establish skills or future conduct.
Police verification, where applicable
Ask whether police verification applies to the candidate and whether relevant information is available, pending or unavailable. No universal clearance or specific police-verification route is claimed here. The scope and date of any available record matter; it is not a guarantee of future behaviour.
References
Where references are available, they may help put a candidate's experience into context. Ask whether a reference was contacted and what it could confirm. A name or phone number supplied by a candidate is not, by itself, a completed reference check.
Previous-employer checks
Where a former employer can be contacted, their account may help clarify previous duties and work history. Contact may not always be possible, and an account may be incomplete. Do not treat an unavailable employer check as a positive result.
Check status and records
For any check being relied on, ask what was reviewed, when, and whether the status is completed, pending or unavailable. Pending or unavailable information must not be described as passed or cleared. Access to personal records should be limited to what is appropriate; a request does not automatically entitle someone to copies of private documents.
What it cannot guarantee
- A check depends on its scope, date, available records and the reliability of the source.
- Confirming identity is different from assessing experience, skills or suitability for a particular household.
- A reference or available verification record cannot predict future behaviour or eliminate risk.
- An introduction or placement should not be read as a statement that every check has passed.
No zero-risk or guaranteed-safety promise is made.
Respect candidate and household privacy
For an initial enquiry, share the role, area and practical requirements—not CNIC images, bank details, medical records or detailed information about children.
Before providing sensitive documents, ask why they are needed, who will access them, how they will be shared and how long they will be kept. Obtain permission before sharing another person's details, and avoid public groups or social posts.
This is privacy guidance, not a statement of a confirmed agency retention period, storage method or document-sharing policy. Those details should be clarified directly.
Meet the candidate
Ask before you decide
Meeting and interviewing the candidate yourself lets you judge fit for your household, alongside whatever checks apply.
- Which checks apply to this candidate, and what is their current status?
- What information supports the candidate's experience for my required duties?
- Is anything incomplete, and what needs to be resolved before a start is agreed?
- What trial, agreement and follow-up terms apply to this enquiry, if any?
WhatsApp opens with a prepared enquiry. Review the message and tap Send yourself.
